Candidate Statement – Director of Region 1, Central Valley
I am asking for your support for Director of Region 1 – Central Valley because I believe our union is strongest when members are informed, engaged, and heard. Informed members understand the issues affecting their workplaces and their rights. Engaged members help build the collective strength that allows us to improve working conditions and protect what we have achieved. Most importantly, every member deserves to be heard and know that their voice matters.
My union experience has given me the opportunity to serve members in many capacities. I currently serve as Assistant Director for Region 1, President of Local 150, a Union Steward, a State Agency Council member, and a CAPE member. These roles have allowed me to advocate for members, address workplace concerns, develop leadership skills, and help strengthen our union at the local, regional, and statewide levels.
I am also a graduate of the Oregon Labor Candidate School, where I gained valuable knowledge about labor activism, political engagement, and building worker power. Beyond my union involvement, I volunteer with the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs and proudly serve as Co-Chair of the SEIU Local 503 Veterans Caucus. Supporting veterans and working families has been a meaningful part of my commitment to service.
I am seeking this office because I want to continue ensuring that the voices of region 1 members are heard and respected. Our members deserve leaders who listen, communicate openly, and advocate tirelessly on their behalf. I believe my experience and dedication make me well-prepared to continue serving our region.
As your Director, I want to hear from you. What concerns do you have about SEIU Local 503? What challenges are you facing in your workplace? What can we do better as a union to support you and your coworkers? Your experiences, ideas, and concerns are essential to building a stronger union.
The Board of Directors is the governing body of our union, and it takes member voices to guide the decisions we make. I cannot effectively represent Region 1 members without listening to the members who make our union strong. My commitment is to be accessible, communicate openly, and ensure that your concerns, priorities, and ideas are brought forward and represented at every level of our union.
