Snyder, Jasmine – Dept of Justice: Candidate for Director

As a steward, bargaining delegate, general council delegate, and Secretary of my Sublocal, I advocate for members' rights every day. Two years ago, I was elected as Assistant Director for Region 2, and ended up being elevated to Director only a few months into my tenure. Since that time, I have represented the region on the Board, including speaking up for workers' work-life balance in a meeting with the Governor. I have learned a lot in this role and would like to continue to build a communication structure to hear more from members across the region to be better able to represent all sectors. Sadly, members of different sectors or workplaces can be very insulated from each other, even while we are all part of the same Union. I hope to spend more time as Director to focus on cross-sector collaboration so workers can better support each other in the region. I plan to work with members and member leaders of the region to collaborate and stand together in solidarity cross-sector. You can trust me to show up and keep members' voices centered at the Board, as well as communicate updates back out to workers
