Williams, Amy – OHA: Candidate for Director
Vote Amy Williams for SEIU 503 Region 6 Director
Dear SEIU 503 Members,
I am running to serve as your Region 6 Director because I have a deep passion for our union’s values, a proven track record of showing up, and a lived understanding of the challenges our members face every day.
Like many of you, I am a real human being navigating the realities of today’s economy. As a single mom raising a teenager, I feel the direct impact of rising costs on everything from groceries to housing. I know what it’s like to stretch a paycheck. That personal struggle is exactly what drives my advocacy. I want to ensure our union fights for the wages, benefits, and workplace protections we need to thrive—not just survive.
I am proud to serve our community through my work at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), where I’ve been since October 2025, and through the previous three years I spent working at ODHS in Clackamas County. This experience across multiple agencies gives me a broad view of our workplace issues.
But I don't just hold a job; I actively show up for our labor movement. Currently, I serve as your Assistant Director for Region 6. In this role, I have maintained near-perfect attendance at board meetings and have frequently stepped up to fulfill full Director duties when needed.
Beyond the board, I actively serve our members across multiple fronts:
+ General Council Delegate – Representing our region’s voice at the highest level.
+ Union Steward – Protecting workers' rights and enforcing our contract.
+ Local 219 Secretary – Keeping our leadership organized and transparent.
+ CAT (Contract Action Team) Member – Mobilizing for the strong contracts we deserve.
+ Equity Committee Member – Advancing equity issues and centering anti-racist values across our union.
My commitment to active, dedicated leadership is why I am honored to be endorsed by our Statewide Treasurer, Mark Workman, who notes:
"I’ve seen firsthand what Amy means when she talks about proven leadership, constant presence, and a deep passion for our members. Amy consistently shows up, stays engaged, and approaches every discussion with empathy and a genuine commitment to doing what's best for our union."
As your Director, I will bring that same consistent energy, real-world perspective, and dedicated advocacy to the board every day.
I humbly ask for your vote. Together, we can build a stronger, fairer SEIU 503.
