Workday Update 10/17/24
Over the past few months, our Union has been in confidential settlement discussions with the State regarding the Workday grievances we filed last year, which has limited our ability to provide updates. As the State has started making proposals, we’ve made it clear that conversations can only continue if we can share potential resolutions with members, which is why we are sending this email.
Our proposals aim to address the harm caused by the transition and ongoing payroll issues, including:
- improved training
- reimbursement for hardships
- penalty payments for incorrect paychecks
- better communication on payroll errors
- support on taxes, and more.
However, the State is focusing on changing contract language to stabilize the payroll system. They’ve proposed moving overtime-eligible employees to hourly pay and eliminating forecasting by implementing a one-time delay to reflect actual hours worked. The State cannot make these changes without our Union’s agreement, and before moving forward, we want to hear from YOU! As a member-led union, we will not proceed without member involvement. Check your email for a link to the workday survey. If you are a member and haven’t received anything please contact your field organizer or the MAC at 1-844-503-SEIU (7348).
