Summary of Changes:

Over the last few years, L200 has seen some major changes, and we have updated our Bylaws to reflect the evolving realities of our environment. In addition to overall housekeeping updates, key factors influencing our need for change included, but are not limited to, the state’s direction to reduce its physical footprint by 30%, an increasing number of members working remotely – some from out-of-state, and the need for clearer expectations regarding elected union positions. Ultimately, these issues impact how we connect, organize, and lead.

We asked membership, stewards, and elected leaders for their recommendations for updates to the Bylaws. Based on that feedback, changes were made, and the L200 Executive Committee (Sublocal Chairs and L200 Officers) approved these changes. The proposed changes then went to the SEIU 503 Rules Committee for vetting and are now awaiting your vote.
